Broadway Gateway Signage

Please tell us what you think!

The Broadway Improvement District is considering a new gateway signage program that welcomes and informs those traveling into and through the Broadway district.

The design of the sign explores the use of ‘Broadway’ as a potential ‘branding’ strategy taking into account Fair Lawn’s only cinema (the Hy-way Theater) and hotel (the ‘new’ Hyatt Place) and builds on a number of district eateries such as Rose’s Place and Campania Restaurant.

While we continue to explore how best to strengthen and market the district to existing and new customers, please take a moment to give us your thoughts about the design that you see here.

Please contact Don Smartt, District Administrator at info@broadwaysid.com.

Broadway Vision Plan

The Broadway Improvement Corporation presented the completed Broadway Vision Plan prepared by H2M and Urbana Consulting, LLC and delivered in November, 2008 to the elected officials of Fair Lawn (January, 2009) and Elmwood Park (February, 2009). Each Borough Council was asked to forward the plan to their respective Planning Boards to review and assess the recommendations within the plan for their impact within ecah of the respective municipalities. BIC representatives will meet with the Planning Boards to answer any questions that may arise.

The plan, which the BIC represents a 'master plan' for the improvement of Broadway Commercial District shared by Fair Lawn and Elmwood Park. The plan evaluates issues and opportunities on Broadway and provides a comprehensive vision for the future of the entire corridor. Funding for the report was provided by the Broadway Improvement Corporation, New Jersey Transit and the Port Authority of NY/NJ.

The report was first presented at a meeting of Broadway's Commercial Property Owner/Business Owner's held on June 26, 2008 at the Warren Point School.
