Participating Broadway District businesses include AAA North Jersey, Air Voice Verizon Wireless, Best Kitchen, Chicken Galore, Gotham City Diner, JJ’s Pub, Nuts for You, Spivak Lighting, Quilly’s Gourmet Sliders and Zap Lube. Ads with special values from each of the participating businesses can also be found online at the BIC website.
Bob Beshlian, President of the BIC, says the Broadway Bucks program has helped introduce people to the many new businesses and dining establishments in the Broadway District.
“In addition to businesses that have been located on Broadway for many years, there are many new businesses and restaurants providing great food, a wide range of products and professional services that Fair Lawn residents and people from other communities should know about,” Beshlian points out. “The Broadway Bucks program has been very successful in bringing new customers to the district to experience great shopping, dining and services, as well as the streetscape upgrades that have helped make Broadway a more inviting place to visit.”
Carole Unger says her daughter Stacy is usually the lucky one in the family. Therefore, she was quite surprised to win a Broadway Bucks gift certificate in the Broadway District’s spring drawing, after entering online at the BIC’s website. Unger, who has lived in Fair Lawn for nearly 40 years, used her gift certificate at the Gotham City Diner, and was pleased with the great food and service she received.
“I had never been to the diner before, although I believe it is important to shop and dine locally, and winning the gift certificate was a perfect opportunity to give it a try,” adds Unger. “I’ve told all of my friends and plan to return again.”
Bob Tsotos, who owns the Gotham City Diner with his partner, George Matthews, participated in the Broadway Bucks program in the spring and is taking part again this fall. The Gotham City Diner opened in Fair Lawn just over 2 years ago, and offers a very comfortable and stylish atmosphere. Food specials at breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a $3.99 breakfast including two eggs, choice of meat and coffee, have earned the Gotham City Diner a loyal following. Tsotos says there is no similar program in Ridgefield, the location of the original Gotham City Diner. “I think the gift certificates are a good idea because they draw people from other parts of Fair Lawn and other towns,” he adds.
“We have continued the Broadway Bucks program again this fall because district business owners and consumers benefit from the program, and enjoy participating,” concludes Beshlian. “Keeping the focus on shopping and dining locally is our top priority.”
