COMMUNITY NEWS (FAIR LAWN EDITION)
Decorative planters throughout Fair Lawn's River Road District have been weeded and replanted as part of a Spring Clean Up & Green Up effort to help keep the area attractive and welcoming.
The program, paid for by the business and commercial property owners of the River Road Improvement Corporation (RRIC), is part of a proactive approach to managing quality of life issues that keeps the district well-maintained with definite "curb appeal."
"Whether you live or work in the River Road District, or visit for shopping, dining and services, we want everyone to feel welcome," noted Robert Landzettel, RRIC President. "That's why we provide these supplemental services in support of the borough's municipal efforts so our local streetscape really stands out and defines River Road as a friendly neighborhood business district that cares."
David Buchsbaum, the district's operations manager, recently supervised a team from Native Fields Landscaping in Landing, as they worked near the intersection of River Road and Fair Lawn Avenue. In addition to cleaning up the district's planters and sidewalks, the crew also worked on the landscaping at Keller Park, an oasis of green dedicated to Bill Keller, a former Columbia Bank employee, an original member of the RRIC and a dedicated community volunteer.
Rick Kellerman, Vice President and Manager of Columbia Bank's River Road branch office, appreciated the extra attention at the park honoring Keller, and believes the district's efforts match Columbia's commitment to the local community.
"Going the extra mile for our customers is part of our business philosophy and the RRIC shares our focus on the little details that can make all the difference," Kellerman concluded.
